Bru is Belgium’s finest water, served in Belgium’s finest restaurants. Thanks to its light sparkles and magnesium, it is recognized to be the best possible match for fine dining. Which is why, since always, Bru is a legacy brand at the table. Unfortunately, nowadays, that table seems to be hijacked by… Foodstagramming. Introducing: Social Plates. Specially designed plates that urge compulsive Foodstagrammers to not get distracted from their company. How? Since 2017, most of phones comes with a built-in QR reader in its camera. We carefully hid QR codes in the design of the plate. So whenever you can’t resist the urge to take a picture, the plate will instantly push a message into your camera screen: ‘Nice photo! But don’t forget to enjoy your dining companions as well.’ The right message, at the right time. Individuals and restaurateurs can order the plates online to encourage customers or their loved ones to spend more time together at the table. I was part of the design team for the Bru Social Plates campaign. The campaign achieved positive recognition by the design industry as well as the customers.
